Latrigg from Car Park Behind
Start/Finish
Latrigg car park which holds about 15 cars. It can get very busy so arrive early. From the roundabout outside Keswick where the A66 and A591 (for Carlisle) roads cross, take the Carlisle road and take any of the first three right turns of which the second is signed for Skiddaw although the third road is the easier approach. When this road ends, just after a farm, turn right and follow the road to its end.

Introduction
This is probably the easiest of the Wainwrights to ascend if one uses the above car park which takes you up to over 300 m and less than 1 km from the summit. There are grand view over Keswick and Derwentwater.
Route
(1) Walk out of the end of the car park and turn right. Pass through a gate then go straight ahead up a wide grassy path to reach the highest point which isn't marked by any cairn but this will be the summit of Latrigg, 368 m. One can wander a little to obtain better views.
(2) Retrace back to the car park.
Notes
(a) This walk took place on 6th October, 2024.
