Introduction
This is a fairly easy walk to navigate as there is a good track most of the way to this Graham. In fine weather, there are good views of the Cairngorm Mountains to the south. After heavy snowfall, the tracks can be difficult to follow.
Route
(1) Walk S along the road for 1 km then take the first track on the right (W) and follow it to Auchterteang cottages. Pass between the buildings and take the track NW, slightly uphill, through the left gate (“Cawdor Estate”). Continue on the track NW then N then NW again, shadowing the burn on the left, to reach a green hut at about NH 913 283. From here the track points at the summit of Carn Glas-choire. Follow track W then NW towards Carn Glas-choire. When the burn splits to go W and NNE, the direct ascent bisects the angle. The track, however, will take one nearer still and shadows the NNE burn then the NW tributary before petering out below the NE bealach. From here, easy slopes can be climbed to reach the large cairn and trig point of Carn Glas-choire, 659 m.
(2) Return by same route or contour round to the E then S over Creag na h-Iolaire to rejoin outward track.
