Introduction

This is a straightforward walk with very easy navigation even in mist. The path is very distinctive. The “Devil's Staircase” suggests difficulties but there are none; it is just a series of zig zags. This is not a circular route and transport will be needed to either to the start or from the finish unless two cars area available.. There are very good views of Buachaille Etive Mor and Buachaille Etive Beag at the start and the Mamores once the Devil's Staircase has been climbed.

Route

(1) Follow the path north from the sign for the West Highalnd Way via the Devil's Staircase. It climbs gently then more steeply up the Devil's Staircase to the highest point then descends with the odd short ascent to join the track coming down from the Blackwater Reservoir. The track is then followed into Kinlochleven.

Notes

(a) This walk took place on 21st September, 2014.
